Immigration Revitalization and Modernization

We can secure our borders and stay true to our values of basic human decency. We can have a system that’s efficient, modern, fair, and humane. This is American strength.

Immigrants work relentlessly to comply with every step of the application process, but the system itself, broken by inefficiencies, mistakes, and endless backlogs, punishes them, forcing families to wait not months, but years and even decades for resolution.

America has always been a nation of opportunity, a place where people come to work hard, raise their families, and build a better future. Immigrants are part of that promise. They are teachers and builders, caregivers and entrepreneurs, neighbors and friends. They make our country stronger, more resilient, and more vibrant. It’s time to repair our broken immigration system with modern technology, fair rules, and a commitment to human dignity. Let’s secure our borders and open doors to those who want to contribute. Let’s keep families together, welcome new talent, and help every newcomer become part of the American story. Because when we honor our values and invest in people, America’s best days are always ahead.

When we speed up the legal integration of immigrants, we strengthen America’s economy for everyone. Immigrants are ready to work, start businesses, buy homes, and pay taxes, but endless delays hold them back. By streamlining the path to legal status and citizenship, we unlock their full potential as workers, entrepreneurs, and community members. That means more jobs, more innovation, and stronger local economies. A modern immigration system isn’t just fair, it’s an investment in America’s prosperity and future.

We can’t have a fair or functional immigration system if cases take years to resolve. That’s why I’m calling for hiring more immigration judges to clear the backlog and deliver timely, just decisions. More judges mean shorter wait times for families, faster protection for those fleeing danger, and quicker resolution for employers and workers who need certainty. By investing in our courts, we uphold the rule of law, reduce chaos at the border, and show the world that America can be both strong and fair.

Natalie’s Plan for Real Immigration Reform

Immigrants are an asset, an incredible asset. America’s immigration system is broken: too slow, too cruel, and too outdated, turning asset immigration into a liability. We can fix it with modern technology, compassionate policy, and common sense.

Here’s my plan to screen threats while welcoming those Immigrants who love America:

Cut Backlogs and Speed Up Processing

  • Hire 1,500 new immigration caseworkers.
  • Modernize systems with High tech logistics and AI to track cases and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Use DMV and other facilities to fast track immigrant application process and eliminate backlog.

Protect Children and Families

  • Legal representation for undocumented children.
  • End family separation.
  • Replace detention with community-based case management that’s cheaper and more humane.

Secure Borders with Smart Technology

  • Build strong, well-managed entry points – “a wall with efficient gates.”
  • Expand biometric entry-exit tracking to stop visa overstays.
  • Use advanced screening at ports of entry to catch real threats while moving legitimate travel quickly.

Expand Legal Immigration Pathways

  • Increase visas for industries that need workers.
  • Create fair, earned paths to citizenship for longtime contributors who pay taxes and follow the rules.

Integrate Newcomers Quickly and Successfully

  • Support English training with modern tools like Duolingo-style apps.
  • Use AI to match immigrants to communities where their skills are needed.
  • Partner with churches and community groups to welcome and support newcomers.

We can have secure borders and a fair, functioning immigration system.

We can protect American jobs and strengthen our workforce.

We can be safe, efficient, and humane.

Let’s solve old problems with new ideas and build an immigration system that reflects America at its best. We have the technology to streamline the legal immigration process, so lets use it.

This plan puts American workers first by filling critical labor shortages in fields where employers can’t find enough help. More legal pathways reduce illegal hiring, keep wages fair, and ensure businesses stay open and competitive. When our economy is strong, all American families benefit.

This is an earned path to legal status for people who’ve worked here for years, paid taxes, and obeyed the law except for their immigration status. It brings people out of the shadows so they can contribute openly, pay their full share, and strengthen our communities. It’s the rule of law with compassion.

No community will be forced into anything. Instead, we’ll partner with local leaders, employers, and groups who want to welcome newcomers, making sure immigrants go where there’s need and support. This approach ensures smoother integration, less strain on services, and more local success.

New Ideas for Immigration Reform: Legal, Efficiency, Security, and Humanity

Cutting Cruel Backlogs with More Staff and Smarter Processes

If you’re worried we should first help veterans, the homeless, and families in need, don’t worry, I have a plan for them too. We can do both, and immigrants can help strengthen, not overwhelm the American family.

The first step is fixing our broken immigration system. USCIS has faced millions of backlogged cases, with families waiting years for answers. By hiring more officers, digitizing records, and streamlining workflows, using tools from supply-chain logistics and proven tech practices, we can cut wait times dramatically.

AI won’t replace human judgment, but it can handle tedious tasks like checking documents, routing cases, and sending reminders. This frees officers to focus on real decision-making and face-to-face interviews. Faster processing means families, workers, and employers can move forward sooner, adding billions to our economy and strengthening communities.

In short: by investing in people and technology, we can make immigration humane, efficient, and beneficial for all Americans.

Expanding Legal Pathways for Workers and Longtime Residents

America needs to modernize immigration by expanding legal pathways where workers are urgently needed and by offering longtime residents a fair, earned path to citizenship. These reforms would reduce illegal flows, strengthen our workforce, generate billions in tax revenue, and honor our tradition as a nation of immigrants.

America’s immigration system must expand legal pathways while offering earned citizenship for longtime residents. Outdated visa caps leave industries like agriculture, healthcare, construction, and tech short of workers, even as DHS is forced into temporary fixes. Tying visa numbers to labor needs would create a flexible, modern system that grows the economy while reducing illegal entry. At the same time, millions of undocumented immigrants who have lived here for decades, raised U.S.-born children, and paid taxes deserve a fair path to legal status. Legalization would boost productivity, generate billions in tax revenue, and strengthen security by bringing people out of the shadows. Together, expanding legal immigration and creating a humane earned-citizenship program form the twin pillars of reform, reducing unlawful flows, honoring American values, and unlocking the potential of all who seek the American Dream.

Humane Alternatives to Detention

America spends billions locking up immigrants in costly, jail-like detention centers, about $150 per person per day, even when most pose no danger. Proven community-based alternatives cost just $4.50 a day, keep families together, and still achieve near-perfect compliance with court appearances (99–100% in DHS’s own pilot program). When given stability, information, and support, immigrants overwhelmingly follow the process. Detention should be the last resort, not the default. By scaling up humane alternatives, we save taxpayers money, uphold American values, and manage immigration more effectively.

Integration and Support for Newcomers

When immigrants are participate in English classes, job placement, and community mentors, they succeed faster, earn more, and vote more — and the tax gains more than cover the costs. Integration is a win-win investment for America.
