🇺🇸 FACTS: HOW WALL STREET TOOK YOUR HOMES AND HOW TRUMP HELPED BUILD THE MACHINE

I still believe in hard work, private ownership, and stable families.

But let’s drop the slogans and face reality.

The American housing market has been hijacked.

And both parties helped build the system that is now robbing your children’s ability to own a home.

Here’s exactly what happened:

  • After 2008, millions of families lost their homes.
  • The federal government (under both parties) sold bulk foreclosures to private equity firms  not to families.
  • Firms like Blackstone, Pretium, Invitation Homes, and Progress Residential bought tens of thousands of homes  entire neighborhoods in some cases.

Under Trump:

  • The 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act gave massive tax breaks to corporate landlords:
    • Pass-through deductions for LLC landlords.
    • Real estate investment trusts (REITs) got expanded tax benefits.
  • Opportunity Zones were created. Wall Street used these to buy neighborhoods tax-free.
  • Banking regulations were rolled back. Private equity firms gained cheap leverage to keep buying homes.
  • Mega-mergers in real estate were approved. Corporate landlords became larger, fewer, and more powerful.
  • Wall Street insiders were appointed directly into Trump’s administration:
    • Steven Mnuchin (foreclosure king from OneWest Bank)
    • Wilbur Ross (foreclosure profiteer)
    • Stephen Schwarzman (CEO of Blackstone — now America’s largest corporate landlord) paid $12 M in Trump’s election and Housing advisor in 2017

During COVID (under Trump):

  • Renters got government cash payments.
  • Landlords (mostly corporations) got paid directly by federal rental assistance programs.
  • Small family landlords were often excluded from rental assistance if renting to relatives.
  • Homeowners didn’t get mortgage relief. They were allowed to delay payments, but still owed full balances later.
  • This created a backlog of unpaid mortgages setting up new waves of foreclosures.

The Reward?

  • Families who couldn’t pay lost their homes.
  • Corporate landlords bought up even more homes.
  • Starter homes, the ones young families need, were purchased in bulk by private equity.
  • Families trying to buy were constantly outbid by corporations offering all-cash, no-contingency deals.
  • Home prices inflated far beyond wages.
  • Even if your kid can “buy” a home now, they’re paying $100,000 more than they should, buried in debt from day one.

As prices went up, so did property taxes.

  • Seniors and long-term homeowners on fixed incomes couldn’t afford skyrocketing property taxes.
  • Many fell behind on taxes.
  • Hedge funds bought up tax liens in bulk, and took the homes when owners couldn’t pay, even if the home was fully paid off.
  • Another pipeline feeding homes back into Wall Street ownership.

This is not a free market.

This is not capitalism.

This is financial extraction.

This is organized asset stripping.

It is wealth transfer from working American families to international private equity billionaires.

Under Biden:

  • Rental assistance expanded.
  • Some small homeowner assistance funds were added.
  • But the system Trump supercharged has continued.
  • Wall Street’s ownership of housing is larger now than ever before.

BOTTOM LINE:

  • Families are locked out of homeownership.
  • Seniors are losing homes over tax bills.
  • Wall Street controls your neighborhoods.
  • Your kids will rent for life unless this system is dismantled.

Both parties built this.

But under Trump, Wall Street got everything it asked for:

  • Tax breaks.
  • Deregulation.
  • No antitrust enforcement.
  • Full political protection.

Meanwhile, they wave the flag and tell you it’s “patriotism.”

REAL CONSERVATISM WAS NEVER THIS.

  • Real conservatism was local ownership.
  • Real conservatism was stable families building wealth.
  • Real conservatism was protecting community property rights, not selling the country’s homes to private equity monopolies.

If you’re still waving a Trump flag while your kids get priced out of their own country, ask yourself:

Who really won?

You?

Or Blackstone, Pretium, and Wall Street?

👉 I’m still conservative.

I just refuse to pretend this system serves America anymore.
